ZIMBABWE HUB A.C.H.M. AWARDED 'OUTSTANDING PRACTICE IN AGROECOLOGY 2019'
A new report from EAT-Lancet has been making headlines this past week, making bold and erroneous claims that we must drastically reduce meat consumption for global sustainability.
Upon Savory's review of the report, we find that they disregard greenhouse gas emissions from fossil fuel use and land use change (e.g. CO2 emissions from tilling), yet they account for methane and NO with livestock, making for a wildly biased and skewed analysis. Additionally, they make no differentiation between various forms of livestock management, so the ecological footprint of land-degrading conventional grazing is assumed for all meat production, ignoring the massive network of land-regenerating Holistic Management practitioners.
