DIGGING IN
ONE TOPIC IN DETAIL EACH MONTH
A Diversity of Impact Strategies
Have you ever looked at the Network News section of this newsletter and noticed the diversity of ways in which Savory Hubs are creating impact in their region?

In this issue alone, we highlight a calf donation program from the Virginia Hub, communal farmers and wool supply chains from the South Africa Hub, and a discussion with Network leaders from the UK, Zimbabwe, and Colorado all sharing the different ways in which the Holistic Management framework works for them.

In land management, we often use the phrase “diversity breeds resilience” to speak to the power of biodiversity, each species filling a different ecological niche and ensuring there’s no single point of failure in the system.

With the Savory Global Network, we take a similar living systems approach, intentionally cultivating a diverse array of Hubs, each independently owned and operated, and each with an impact strategy tailored to the geographic, cultural, and market needs of their region. By doing so, we’re honoring the different contexts of each region and ensuring that Hub leaders have ownership of their local strategy, not forcing a top-down one-size-fits-all approach that limits their potential scale of impact.

What does that look like in practice? When a new Savory Hub candidate starts their 18-month accreditation pathway, one of the major milestones is the Hub Design Lab, an immersive and collaborative deep-dive with Savory staff and mentors to design an impact model that best suits their unique genius and the needs of the region. Key components of this work session focus on holistic organizational and business model design for each Hub, as well as building the foundation for a strong and relevant mentorship/support system.

What results is a Network where no two Hubs look alike or have the exact same offerings, but each is building capacity at the local level and contributing to the greater mission of regenerating global grasslands through Holistic Management.
