This month we have big Network News from the Savory Hub in Central California, a peek at how Uruguay’s government is working with their local Hub to improve grazing across the country, and Georgia Hub leader Will Harris featured in Bloomberg.

The What We’re Reading section should probably be renamed What We’re Watching given all the great new videos coming out, and for Digging In we share details on a major update to our online Events Calendar.

As a reminder, you can access all previous newsletters at savory.global/newsletter.

ONE TOPIC IN DETAIL EACH MONTH
How to Find Network Events
We often get the question “where can I go to learn Holistic Management?” Thankfully, the Savory Global Network exists to answer that very question, with accredited Savory Hubs offering training, consulting, and implementation support to land managers across all corners of the globe.

To make finding these training opportunities a bit easier, earlier this month we launched a major update to the Events Calendar on Savory’s website, seen below:
So what’s new with the Events Calendar update?

  • The layout. We ditched the old clunky calendar and upgraded to a more modern design with functionality that’s easy to use, even on a smartphone.

  • Dynamic search and filters. You can now search and find events by location, Hub, course type, date, keyword, and more. You can also see search results in list view, calendar, or view events on a map, making it MUCH easier to find an upcoming course or event.

  • Virtual events. In addition to in-person events, you can now filter by events happening in the virtual space. With this new feature, we’re expanding beyond just trainings on the Events Calendar, and will now also show webinars, conferences, meet-ups, and other types of digital gatherings that the world is becoming more and more accustomed to.

  • Event categories. Wouldn’t it be great if you could check a box and search for all upcoming Holistic Planned Grazing courses? Or find all upcoming webinars? Or conferences? Well now you can! We’ve created event categories for all the accredited courses (Foundations, Holistic Planned Grazing, etc.) plus other event types like webinars, conferences, field days, and more. Just check the relevant box(es) when searching for an event.

We’re still working to get all upcoming events listed on this new Events Calendar, so keep checking back if you don’t see something in your area. You can always find your local Savory Hub and reach out directly as well.

As we all continue on our journeys with Holistic Management, we hope this update makes everyone’s lives a bit easier.
